Our story

New Wave Seafood was set up by Tim Boyd in 1989 to provide top-quality fresh fish and shellfish to some of the most discerning restaurants in the heart of England.

Why Choose New Wave

IT'S ALL ABOUT SERVICE.

At New Wave we are committed to quality, value for money and a friendly, efficient, personal service. We source only the best, from suppliers we know well, our filleting team works through the night to prepare orders to meet your exact specifications, and our refrigerated vans deliver to your door 5 days a week, usually by noon.

We have a genuine passion for the quality of our fish and shellfish and make sure that it is responsibly sourced.

Although the business has grown over the years, New Wave continues to be an independent, owner-operated business; because we are not owned by anyone else, we have greater flexibility and are better placed to serve our customers’ individual needs.

We are very happy to offer advice on quantities, portion control or preparation to all our customers. Also, you are welcome to come and visit our premises by appointment; we’d be delighted to show you around so that you can meet the New Wave team and see how and where we work and our extensive range of first-rate products.

Where do we source our seafood?

New Wave offers the widest selection of superb-quality, responsibly sourced seafood available to the caterer in the UK, usually stocking over 50 types of fresh fish and shellfish at any one time.

■ Our fresh fish and shellfish is caught in Britain’s coastal waters, mainly in Devon, Cornwall and Scotland

■ We buy daily, direct from small day-boats and 3 fish auctions.

■ We carry an extensive range of farmed fish, including salmon, trout, halibut, sea bass, gilthead bream and stone bass.

■ A large shellfish tank at our premises enables us to provide you with lobster at short notice.

■ Most of our smoked products are from local producers, including Severn and Wye Smokery.

We know how important reliability is for the busy chef, so we aim for total consistency and cheffriendly delivery times. Every day our transport and logistics department monitors 18 delivery routes, as well as two collection vehicles in Cornwall, to ensure your order arrives on time.

We work through the night to prepare, pack, check and load our 18 refrigerated vans, which leave between 4am and 7.30am six days a week, and aim to deliver all orders by noon.

Our route order is virtually the same each day, to bring as much consistency to our operation as possible. All our vehicles are fitted with a tracker system, enabling us to know exactly where our fleet is and when deliveries have been made. It also allows us to estimate delivery times for new customers.
